Meet Your Instructor:
Diya Basu (Incoming Student at New Yorn University)
Diya has been an artist from an early age. She started with acrylic painting and water colors, and moved into graphic design as she got older. She started out with designing slides and backgrounds for the Microsoft Education Conference in 2017. Now, she is an avid user of Adobe Illustrator and has found a way to integrate it into her career in science. Her skills in graphic design have been most helpful in designing large 36 x 24 posters for her science competitions (HOSA, CSRSEF, WSSEF) where she won awards for both her scientific innovations and the design of her poster. Diya is planning to pursue a degree in Cognitive Science with a minor in either design or business. She hopes to use her graphic design skills to create inspiring and impactful presentations in the science-industry and contribute to her hobby in making hand-made prints for the sustainable fashion industry. She is looking forward to passing on her knowledge and sharing her passion with you!
